“A Day Full of Little Joys”

Today wasn’t anything special, but it was one of those days filled with small moments that warmed my heart.

This morning, just as I got to the station, I realized — “Oh, no delays today!” That alone made me feel like everything was going to go smoothly. It’s funny how just having a little extra time can change your whole mood.

At work, something nice happened too. I’m a temporary staff member, but today several people asked me for help with different tasks. It made me feel like, “Hey, maybe I’m actually being useful?” That small sense of pride was really encouraging.

During lunch break, I wandered down a back alley in Shinbashi and found a little curry shop. Total jackpot! The chicken spicy curry was amazing — I literally said “Wow, this is so good!” out loud with the first bite. And then, because the food took a bit longer than expected, they gave me a complimentary iced coffee. Those little acts of kindness really touch the heart.

On the way home, I managed to get a seat on the train right away. I was especially grateful because I was wearing new shoes today, and my feet were starting to hurt. The moment I sat down, I silently cheered, “Thank goodness!”

Then at night, I managed to log in to my 9:00 PM online meeting right on time! It may sound small, but keeping things on schedule brings a nice sense of accomplishment.

But the best part of the day? I got to have dinner with my daughter. We’ve both been so busy lately, and it’s rare for our schedules to line up. But today, we sat down together, shared some laughs, and enjoyed a meal. That alone felt like the biggest reward.

It might not have been a grand or flashy day, but having these small “good things” pile up made me feel like, “Yeah, today wasn’t bad at all.”

Thank you, today.

And to you reading this — I hope a little happiness finds you tomorrow too.
